| Our trip started at 8 o’clock. We rode the Amtrak. Although the trip is a little bit longer than 8 hours, it is a nice trip. All aboard! A las 8 de la mañana nos subimos al tren rumbo a Chicago. El viaje dura un poquito mas de 8 horas pero siendo nuestro primer viaje en tren ni lo sentimos. ¡Vamonos! |

| We got to Chicago just about dinner- time. We went to try the famous Chicago deep-dish pizza. Llegamos justo a la hora de la cena y Chicago es famoso por sus pizzas. ¿Adivina que cenamos? :) |

| Our Thursday we went to the Sears Tower. They are now the second tallest building in the World. This picture shows a view of Chicago’s downtown from their observatory. El jueves fuimos al observatorio de la Torre Sears (el segundo edificio mas alto del mundo). Esta foto la tomamos desde ahi. |

| After the Sears Tower we spent the day walking on the “loop”. This area is full of beautiful buildings, with all sorts of architectural styles. The building behind me is called The Rookery. Depues de visitar la Torre Sears nos fuimos a caminar por el centro. El centro de Chicago es muy padre y esta lleno de edificios de todos sabores y colores. El edificio que esta detras de mi se conoce como “The Rookery” |

| Besides the buildings, there are a couple of famous sculptures in the loop. This one on the picture is called “Chicago” and it was designed by Joan Miro. You guess right, the little woman on the base of the sculpture is Karla :) Ademas de los edificios nos encontramos un chorro de esculturas en el centro. En esta foto esta una diseñada por Miro. La mancha negra en la parte de abajo de la foto es Karla :) |

| Here is another nice sculpture that we found on the loop. This one was designed by Picasso. Esta es otra esculptura famosa que nos encontramos en el centro; esta fue diseñada por Picasso. |

| On Friday we went to the Chicago Art Institute. The building itself it’s beautiful. El viernes nos fuimos al Instituto de Arte de Chicago. |

| They have a fantastic exhibit of modern art. In this picture Hector is beside a painting by Miro. El instituto tiene una cantidad enorme de obras de arte moderno. Aqui estoy junto a una pintura de Miro. |

| We noticed this building while we were waiting online outside the Art Institute. Isn’t it cool? Este edificio esta afuera del instituto. Karla me tomo la foto mientras haciamos cola para entrar. |

| Saturday we spent most of the day at the Shed Aquarium. This is the main entrance to the building. El sabado nos la pasamos en el acuario Shed. Esta es la entrada principal al edificio. |

| This is one of the many fish tanks that they have. It is amazing the number of colors that you can see on the plants and animals inside these tanks. Esta es una de las muchas peceras dentro del acuario. Los colores tanto de las plantas como de los animales es increible. |

| From the aquarium you we were able appreciate Chicago’s skyline better than from downtown. Desde el acuario se pueden apreciar mejor muchos de los edificios del centro. |

| The tallest black building is the Sears Tower. This picture was taken from outside the aquarium as well. El edificio negro es la Torre Sears. |

| The John Hancock is another skyscraper located in Chicago. The shape of this building is rather unique. This was my favorite building. El centro John Hancock es otro de los rascacielos que se encuentra en Chicago. La forma de este edificio es muy peculiar y fue el edificio que mas me gusto. |

| Speaking of favorites...this was Karla’s favorite spot: The Magnificent Mile. A whole mile full of Christmas lights and shops! :) Este fue el area que mas le gusto a Karla: La Milla Magnifica. Es una area que cubre poco mas de una milla y esta llena de tiendas, tiendas, tiendas y decoraciones navideñas. J |
