Colima Trip 2004

Here are the pictures from our trip to Colima on December 2004.
We were there from Dec 18-30. We ate and drank a lot. Enjoyed the wonderful weather, went to the beach, visited family and a few friends, and met our nephew Angel Gabriel and niece (without name at the time we came back). For the geographically-impaired, please take a look at Where Is Colima

Comimos, bebimos, fuimos a la playa, disfrutamos de un clima precioso. Y ademas de ver a familiares y unas pocas amistades, conocimos a dos recien nacidos: Angel Gabriel y una beba aun sin nombre cuando nos venimos.
We arrived at Guadalajara on Sat. Dec 18. We went for a nice dinner to La Estancia Gaucha, an Argentin restaurant, where we saw the Navarro Correas wine (the "family" wine :))
Llegamos a Guadalajara el sabado 18 de diciembre. Fuimos a cenar a la Estancia Gaucha, un restaurant argentino donde hallamos un vino llamado Navarro Correas, que por supuesto es el vino de la familia :)
After dinner we went to the hotel bar and had a few drinks, sang, and danced. There was live music (the mariachi singer wanted to kiss Hector) :)
Despues de la cena nos fuimos al bar del hotel donde nos echamos una copita, cantamos y hasta bailamos. Un mariachi con voz de Aljandro Fernandez que le hacia al karaoke le queria dar un besito a Hector por no cantar. :)
This is Karla's baby cousin (like her sister) Sandra, just a few days before giving birth to her first baby.

On Tuesday, Dec 21, Sandra and Alejandro gave a dinner at their home. They invited their families.
Sandra cooked Carne en su Jugo, a mexican dish.
El martes 21 de diciembre Sandra y Alejandro dieron una cena en su casa. Invitaron a la familia de Alejandro y los Suarez.

On Wed Dec 22 we went to the beach with Karla's uncle Paco and a friend, Gaby.
We went to a beach called Cuyutlan, famous for its tall waves.
We ate, swam, and fixed all the problems in the world...
El miercoles 22 de diciembre nos fuimos a Cuyutlan con Paco y Gaby, una amiga.
On Thu Dec 23 Robert (Hector's brother) took us to Los Cafetales (coffee trees), a new place.
El jueves Roberto nos llevo a Los Cafetales, un sitio nuevo parecido a Suchitlan.
This is a chamorro, a beef leg in a Mexican adobo.

Dec 23 is Karla's aunt Licho's birthday. She gave a barbeque that night.
El 23 es cumpleanos de mi (Karla) tia Licho, quien dio una carne asada en su casa.

Dinner at the Correa's was the traditional turkey (Maya style), with black fried beans, baked potatoes, onion cured with sour oranges, Christmas fruit salad, bread, and wine.
La cena en casa de los Correa es el pavo en naranja agria (estilo Yucatan), con frijoles negros refritos, papas horneadas, cebollas en naranja agria, ensalada navidena, pan y vino.

We went to a Museum of the Iguana. Iguanas are located almost in every house roof, but in this place they take care of hurt iguanas, help them reproduce and free them in places where they are safe.
Fuimos a un museo nuevo en Colima, de la iguana.
We got the artistic itch and drove around Colima, taking pictures of some of its sculptures.

On Wednesday, Dec. 29 Karla's cousin Sandra finally started labor. After several hours she underwent surgery and gave birth to a beautiful baby girl named Arcela Monserrat.Here are more pictures Fotos Sandra Montserrat
Karla was lucky and got to see them and take the baby's first pictures.
We left Colima on the morning of the 30th.
El miercoles 29 de diciembre Sandra comenzo su labor de parto en la tarde. Despues de horas de no dilatar, tuvo cesarea y asi nacio su beba Arcela Monserrat. Karla entro a verlas en cuanto Sandra desperto y les tomo sus primeras fotos. Aqui hay mas
