KU Graduation 2007

Here are the pictures from Karla's graduation at KU. She participated in two events, one on Saturday, with a formal ceremony by the School of Education, and one on Sunday, an informal walk into the stadium with all 6,000 KU graduating students. She received her Master of Science in Higher Educacion. Well, almost. She still has two elective classes to take and will receive her diploma in December. Click on each picture to enlarge.
Estas son las fotos de la graduacion de Karla. Ella participo en dos eventos. Uno fue la ceremonia formal de la escuela de educacion el sabado, y el otro fue la caminada al estadio del domingo, con otros 6,000 estudiantes de la universidad de Kansas. Karla recibio su Maestria en Educacion Superior. Bueno, casi. Todavia le quedan dos clases electivas por completar; le dan su diploma en diciembre. Haz click en las fotos para agrandarlas.

Arriving to the Lied Center, where the ceremony for the school of Education took place. With Anita, Nancy, David, and Hector.
Llegando al auditorio donde fue la ceremonia de graduacion de la escuela de educacion. Con Anita, Nancy, David, y Hector.
Inside the Lied Center. There were bachelors, masters, EdD and PhD graduating students, all from the School of Education.
Adentro del auditorio. Habia graduados de licenciatura, maestria, y doctorado, todos de la escuela de educacion.

We met some of Karla's classmates and professor Susan Twombly at The Wheel, in Lawrence. Nos reunimos con algunos de los compañeros de Karla y su profesora Susan (de azul) en un bar de Lawrence.

After that, we started walking to campus, and we found Baby Jay and Big Jay. We had to take a picture with them! Darren, Baby Jay, Beth, GIna, Karla, and Big Jay. Despues de eso, caminamos hacia el campus y nos encontramos con las dos mascotas de la universidad. Darren, Bebe Jay, Beth, Gina, Karla y Jay.

Arriving to the gathering place for the masters group. All masters grads walked together. The Education grads are the ones with the baby blue (yuck!) hood. Llegando al punto de reunion de los graduados de maestria, de todas las escuela. Los de la escuela de educacion traen la banda de cuello azul bajito.

Finally, after sweating for a few hours, we started walking down the hill, into the campanille and finally arrived to the stadium. Finalmente, despues de estar sudando la gota gorda por horas, caminamos la colina hacia la torre del campanario, por donde pasamos de ida al estadio.
Karla did not stay for the ceremony there, so she just kept walking and got out! Karla no se quedo a la ceremonia del domngo, asi que siguio caminando de salida del estadio.
