This Winter has been really cold here in Kansas City. The temperature has stayed on the 20s for 3 or 4 weeks! The nice thing about it is that there is a great scenary around the city with a combination of ice and snow. I took these pictures at Loose Park on February 3rd. The snow that you see in these pictures has been here since we took the Snow Day 2007 pictures.
Fishing is not allowed but lounging is OK Since it had been so cold for so many days the water of the pond was frozen so thick that you could actually walk on it. I took the following pictures while "walking on water" After Loose Park I went to the plaza. Check the ice on the fountain. This is an sculpture entitled This is all my love that is on exhibition at the corner of 47th and Broadway. From there I went to Brush Creek and took a few last shots of the creek, the fountain, and the lake next to the Kauffman foundation. All of these pictures were taken on the same day. Notice how gray the sky was on one side and bright blue on the other.
