Sunday, August 10/Domingo 10 de agosto
It rained in the morning. Around noon we took the Metro to the neighborhood of Jardin des Plantes. We walked around a market, then along the street Rue Mouffetard, visited the ruins of the Lutece arena, and finally went into a nice restaurant, L'Assiette aux Fromages, near the Place de la Contrescarpe. We had one of the best and longest meals ever: onion soup, chicken with ratatouie, duck and potatoes, and great Bordeaux wine; later the best creme brule, cheese sampler and espressos after the meal.
We walked back, passing by The Pantheon and Atienne's church. By the Seine we saw Shakespeare and Company, a bookstore with books in English (stamped "Shakespeare and Co. Kilometer Zero Paris"). We walked around the Seine and Ile-St-Louis, getting another ice cream, of course.
